The Concrete Rose Foundation is a 501-c3 nonprofit organization in Roanoke Rapids, NC that was founded in 2019 with the commitment to promote an active lifestyle in the community by providing dance education opportunities to those under-served artistically, culturally, and economically in Halifax County. The intentions of this organization is to provide scholarships when possible to qualifying dance members of The Concrete Rose Dance Academy who exhibit financial need, in a professional dance environment that stimulates artistic enrichment, while providing a constructive after-school hours activity; to significantly improve and promote the healthy and active lifestyle to the youth of the community through dance education and other programmatic activities that help to improve the students physical well-being; and to promote and popularize the art of dance and culturally enrich the Roanoke Valley community with the art of dance by presenting programs of professional dance quality and thereby giving qualified dancers who face financial or transportation boundaries the opportunity to participate in such programs when possible.
The Concrete Rose Foundation was founded to assist The Concrete Rose Dance Academy with providing access to dance education to members of our community who otherwise would not have the financial means to fulfill their dance educational goals. The Foundation sees dance education as a catalyst, an agent of growth and change for individuals, families, and communities.

THE CONCRETE ROSE DANCE ACADEMY
The Concrete Rose Dance Academy is a dance studio located at 936 Roanoke Ave, in Roanoke Rapids, NC. TCRDA is fully devoted to providing young dancers an encouraging environment where they are given an opportunity to grow and excel in their dance education. We wish to encourage our students to achieve their fullest potential – to support them as they grow artistically and academically and develop into well rounded individuals who are nourished in mind, body, and spirit. Our goal is to generate a foundation where a rose can bloom, even in those cases where nature has made it nearly impossible for them to survive.
The purpose of The Concrete Rose Dance Academy is to embrace the youth whose soul ignites with the art of movement but cannot obtain the right outlet to support, nurture, and groom their talent. This dance studio gives students, ages 3-18 in the Roanoke Valley community the opportunity to learn the techniques of dance, flag, and baton on all different skill levels, while learning lessons on self-identity, physical education, healthy competition, and the importance of service to one’s community. Our attempt is to create an environment where dancing is both exciting and fulfilling for the students. This dance studio also serves as an outlet that gives these students an incentive to maintain excellent school grades as well as giving them something to do when they get out of school. We strive to build and strengthen a connection to the Roanoke Valley community with our classes and performances.
