THE BEANSTALK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

IMG_7873.JPG

The BEANSTALK Scholarship Program is designed to support the achievements of young students who are seriously engaged in the art of dance and to expose and engage under-served and low-income students to high quality dance training. Scholarships will provide tuition to students at The Concrete Rose Dance Academy.

The BEANSTALK Scholarship Program was founded in honor and memory of one of The Concrete Rose Foundation’s top sponsor and supporters, Jasmine “Beanie” Fleming. Since the opening of TCRDA, Mrs. Fleming served as a silent sponsor, helping so many students be successful in the academy. This scholarship will honor her continuous contributions by affording students the gift of dance.

DONATIONS AND MONEY RAISED IN THIS PROGRAM WILL FUND TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS ONLY!

"MUCH IS REQUIRED" PROGRAM

The Much is Required Program is centered on community service. It requires that all members of The Concrete Rose Dance Academy participate in at least one community service activity per semester. As young people get older, they need to stretch their abilities, including their moral sensibilities. Engagement with other kids and adults in meaningful service activities can support healthy development in a variety of ways, providing opportunities for both growth and positive fulfillment. Volunteering helps to foster empathy and develop a sense of self-efficacy.

In the past, TCRDA students have given up a portion of their holiday vacations to feed the homeless Thanksgiving dinner and to put on free Christmas performances at a local nursing home and mental health facilities. In addition, TCRDA students have hosted movie nights at local nursing homes as well as raising food and toiletry donations for various other organizations in the community.

THE BUSBUDS PROGRAM

The BusBuds Program is a program that is currently underway by The Concrete Rose Foundation. The goal of this program will be to provide transportation services that travel from the local schools to The Concrete Rose Dance Academy. Halifax County is a rural area and many families in our community face transportation boundaries that forces their child to miss out on many after-school activities. With the development of BusBuds, we will be able to solve that problem
